Hey
As Jago pointed out, there has not been a public Linkinus update in nearly 3 months. Betatesters however have enjoyed many a nightly Linkinus build.
With Leopard coming soon, I feel it is time to stop testing and publicly update Linkinus. Version 1.1 already worked fine on Leopard seeds but a few visual glitches remained that needed to be fixed.
I am therefore glad to announce that Linkinus 1.2 will be available on this website and all over the Web tomorrow Thursday, October 25.
It will be a free update to everybody. I hope this post clears things up for many users who want to update to Leopard on the very day it is released (October 26) and were not sure if Linkinus and Leopard would shake hands.
Your feedback is greatly appreciated, so please do not hesitate to drop me an email anytime.
Cheers!
Nicolas
I know it’s been a long time since I’ve written a blog post.
I’m sorry.
But we’re still alive! Linkinus is not dead. We did not simply take your money and run. We are aware there are bugs; fixes are on their way. We know you want them snazzy new features. They’re there too! Basically, what it boils down to is that we’ve all gotten some new jobs lately, and some of us have even had to move to new countries for them, and we needed to spend time setting up shop and getting ready to code. (Well, not me… I just write awesome blog posts.) We feel like we’ve failed our community, and we’re very sorry. Have faith! Linkinus will soon be back on track with 1.1.1, which should be released just in time to add full Leopard (Mac OS X 10.5, due in a couple of weeks, for those not in the know) support - something I know more than a few of you guys have been aching for for some time.
Again, we’re sorry for not supporting or updating our users for this long. It won’t happen again. We will always - always make sure you, our users, know what’s up, and in a timely manner.
That being said, we have exciting things planned for the future! We hope you’ll join us on the way to making Linkinus the best - and most supported - IRC client on the Mac!
Over and Out.
